Obituary
Tyrone Ellison was born in Detroit, MI on September 14, 1953 to Louise Ross and
the late Will C. Ellison. From this union, two children were born. Tyrone was the
second child of two boys. His oldest brother, Lamont Ellison preceded him in
death. At a very young age, Tyrone's parents departed ways.
Despite his parent's separation, Tyrone was blessed to to be raised by his
stepfather, Lawrence Wilson, who preceded him in death. From Lawrence's union
to Louise, Tyrone was blessed with 10 more amazing siblings: Khaalida, Sandra,
Lawrence Jr., Herman, Yvonne, Disaree, Loudell, and Tabatha; his other brothers,
Ronald and Marlin preceded him in death. Tyrone grew up with his family on
Roosevelt St. in Detroit, Michigan, and attended Detroit Public Schools. He was
affectionately known as "Pop" or "Pop Dolla" by family and neighborhood friends.
Tyrone was raised in the church and attended services at New Starlight Baptist
Church at an early age. In recent years, he attended New Ebenezer Baptist Church
(Rev. Wallace Mills) and mostly, First United Church of Jesus Christ (Cleven I.
Jones).
Growing up, he developed an interest in sports and became involved in track and
field and baseball. With his love for sports, he watched sports on television often
and especially favored baseball. He was also known to be a very skillful pool and
dice player. Anyone who knew Tyrone, knew that he was very outspoken and
protective of his younger siblings. He loved family. He enjoyed his mother's home
cooked meals and desserts and visiting his mother's home often. He also enjoyed
family gatherings for the holidays, and just being around family. He was an
amazing, loving, and supportive son and brother to his siblings and has been a
good friend to many, and he will be truly missed for his genuine heart and
unwavering love for family.
Tyrone leaves behind his beloved Nancy Riley; his loving mother Louise Wilson;
siblings: Khaalida McEntire (Herbert, preceded him in death), Sandra (Albert)
Gilbert, Lawrence Ellison, Herman Lee Wilson, Yvonne Ellison, Disaree (Greg)
Baker, Loudell Callum, and Tabatha Powell (Brian, preceded him in death); 16
nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and nephews, and a host of uncles, aunts
cousins, and friends.

I wish you were here with me but that can never be,
Memories of you in my heart, that only I can see.
My angel up in heaven, I hope you understand.
That I would give anything if I could hold your hand.
I would hold you oh so tightly, and never let you go,
And all the love inside of me, to you I would show.
My angel up in heaven, for now we are apart,
You will always live inside of me, deep within my heart.
